How to use candles correctly?
We all like to enjoy the atmosphere that candles create for us, but there are rules of use that can allow us to enjoy that atmosphere as long and safely as possible.
When using candles, it is recommended:
- Before each lighting, it is necessary to shorten the wick to 5 mm so that the candle burns better. Wooden wicks need to be shortened by breaking them.
- It is not recommended to light the candle and then extinguish it after a short period of time (it is necessary to let the wax melt on the surface). Candles have a 'memory', so in case of quick extinguishing, a tunnel is created in the middle of the candle.
- The candle may burn for a maximum of 3-4 hours continuously.
- Keep the candle away from children and pets.
- It is recommended to put a mat under the candle so that the heat does not destroy the furniture/the base on which the candle stands.
- Do not leave the candle unattended.
- Extinguish the candle when 5 mm of wax remains at the bottom of the container.
*Remark:
Safety is our number one priority, so some candles initially burn more slowly, i.e. more unevenly, but by the time they are finally lit, they use up all the wax. In this way, we prevent overheating of the can.
Certain oils can affect the color of the wax after a while, but this color change does not affect the burning.
Possible irregularities on the surface of the candle after lighting are a sign that the candle is made of 100% soy wax.
